About

The Grub Bag

The Grub Bag was originally started in January 2014 as a project for my Graduate Public Relations program. This blog is my attempt to feed my love of food while trying to keep it real in the kitchen.

My background has shaped my view of food - my interest in real, non-GM food is something that I take very seriously, and I try to showcase that in my cooking. Join me and together we will explore "real food".

About Me

I was born and raised in the Niagara region and have an hBA in Sociology and a graduate certificate in PR. Currently, I'm a Masters student and amateur blogger trying to merge my love of food with my sociological imagination.

I'm your basic cat-loving feminist who really enjoys making treats for the people I love. In my teen years, I worked as a barista and bartender, and in my late teens and early twenties as a fine-dining server. This experience laid the groundwork for my love of food, and the fact that I live in Southern Ontario (a.k.a. the greenbelt) allows me to explore the region's best.

In addition to food and wine, some of my interest include yoga, music, hiking, travelling, social justice and reading. I'm a big fan of multi-tasking, so you can often find me wrapped up in one or two of these activities at once.
